Look at the battery indicator, on the top right of your MacBook’s display. If there’s an ‘X’ in it, or if the indicator never reaches 100% when the power is plugged in, you’re in need of a new battery. Some MacBook models may also experience the ‘jumping cursor of doom’: a cursor that randomly moves to different parts of a document, or even starts deleting text when you haven’t touched the trackpad.
Quick draining of the battery without a power cord attached is another sign that your MacBook is in need of a battery replacement.
