Computer Repair Ltd is the controller for personal information used to collect and match repair requests, review partner applications, administer the platform, monitor standards, handle complaints, and keep required business records. Information we collect

Why we use information

We use customer information to take steps requested before a possible repair contract, operate the matching service, disclose accepted requests to a selected partner, support contact and specialist consent, obtain feedback, and handle problems. We use partner information to review applications, provide and secure accounts, match suitable leads, administer credit, monitor standards, and enforce the Partner Agreement.

Our lawful bases include taking steps at your request before a contract, performing our platform agreements, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service and monitoring partner quality, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where specifically requested. Where consent is used, it can be withdrawn for future processing, although previous lawful processing remains valid.

Who receives information

Limited repair information and optional photographs are shown to eligible approved engineers before acceptance. Contact information is disclosed only to the partner who accepts, or to another partner after your specialist-sharing consent. A selected independent repair partner normally becomes a separate controller for information they use to quote, contract, repair, invoice, and warrant their work.

We also use service providers for website hosting, email delivery, secure payment through Stripe, postcode lookup, file processing, security, and professional advice. Providers may process information only for authorised services and under appropriate terms. We may disclose information where required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a properly managed business transfer.

International processing

Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we use an applicable adequacy regulation, approved contractual protection, or another lawful safeguard. You can ask the privacy contact for information about the relevant safeguard.

How long we keep information

A longer or shorter period may apply where required to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, comply with law, investigate security or fraud, or honour a valid erasure request. Legal holds restrict access and pause ordinary deletion for the affected record.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection to processing. You may withdraw consent where consent is the basis. You also have the right not to be subject to a solely automated decision with legal or similarly significant effect. Partner approval, Trusted status, complaint outcomes, and suspensions are not decided solely by automation.

Email info@computerrepairltd.co.uk to exercise a privacy right. We may need proportionate evidence of identity. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk, although we would appreciate the opportunity to address the concern first.

Cookies, local storage, and secure links

The repair and partner systems use strictly necessary security values, browser sessions, and local web-app storage to submit forms once, keep secure no-login access, verify a partner device, and provide offline app shell files. Customer details, live leads, and repair jobs are not stored in the offline app cache. Optional analytics, if enabled elsewhere on the site, are described by the relevant consent controls.

Security and updates

We use access controls, encrypted sensitive database fields, private file storage, expiring links, rotating device sessions, protected downloads, audit records, and restricted administrator access. No internet service can promise absolute security. Tell us promptly if a secure link, account, device, or customer information may have been exposed.

We update this notice when processing or legal requirements change. The current version and date are published here, and each repair submission records the privacy version accepted at that time.
